Cloud computing has quickly become a hot topic among business owners and IT professionals. According to a study conducted by IBM, the number of enterprises that utilize cloud computing will more than double by the year 2015. As more enterprise companies move into the cloud, smaller businesses can observe their actions in order to determine the most effective ways to use the cloud in their own organizations. Benefits of Learning from Enterprises While enterprise companies have a seemingly endless supply of money for trial and error operations, smaller businesses typically operate on limited funds. They don’t have the necessary resources to jump into the cloud with both feet and see where they land. By observing the results of larger corporations’ efforts, small businesses can engage in trial and error analysis without putting out any of their own money. This allows a small business to compare the results of different enterprises’ cloud computing strategies, determine which is most effective, and focus its efforts and resources on duplicating that strategy

The chief difference between then and now was the way in which the public viewed the wired world. Back then going online was more of a convenience than a way of life. While some people (particularly the young) were addicted to certain aspects of technology, more teenagers were hooked on video games than the Internet in 95. This could have proven the end for many user-generated sites, such as those offering reviews or coupons for businesses. But after reading the web page, it was clear that the headline was just a clever way to catch your attention and lure you to a sales page with an aggressive sales pitch. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has seen these headlines too, and the FTC doesn’t think they’re clever at all. In fact, the FTC believes they constitute deceptive and unfair trade practices, as indicated by the FTC’s accelerated crackdown on affiliates of a popular diet drink with aggressive weight loss claims.
Company Appoints General Manager to Lead Dutch and European Operations, Recruits 25 to Staff New Data Center in Amsterdam

Dallas—October 13, 2011—SoftLayer® Technologies, the largest privately-owned hosting company in the world has chosen Amsterdam in The Netherlands for its European headquarters and first data center. SoftLayer is investing $75 million initially in Holland and its European operations, which also includes new network PoPs in Amsterdam, London, and Frankfurt. In addition, the company has appointed Jonathan Wisler as General Manager for European Operations. The company will also be recruiting a further 25 digital professionals to staff the new data center and support operations.

Jonathan Wisler, an Information Technology veteran and now General Manager for SoftLayer in Europe comments: “Given the overall size of The Netherlands compared to the rest of Europe, this country is one of the most advanced in terms of Internet infrastructure and networking. We’re seeing a thriving community of both established digital entrepreneurs and start-ups here. There is a terrific buzz, particularly in Amsterdam, amongst digital professionals. It’s exciting, vibrant and it’s lively—the perfect environment from which to launch our European operations.”

As part of its European drive, SoftLayer has also joined the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX). “As one of the world’s largest Internet exchanges, we’re delighted to welcome one of the world’s largest hosting companies into our Internet Exchange community,’” says Job Witteman AMS-IX Chief Executive Officer. He adds “SoftLayer’s choice and business potential in Europe show a clear sign that regardless of the financial markets, our (Internet) Industry and the city of Amsterdam offer one of the best environments for companies, technology and engineering talent to thrive.”

Jonathan Wisler explains, “SoftLayer is a name well-known in the US, but it’s already establishing a prestigious European reputation for delivering flexibility and control to businesses that live on a browser. The technology approach is ground-breaking; the business model unique—we think that an increasing number of Dutch enterprises and organizations will quickly catch on to a new way of managing their digital infrastructures.”

“I think it will be Internet-savvy small and medium sized businesses (SMBs), social media and gaming start-ups that will be the early arrivals to our new Amsterdam data center. These are the types of companies that make up SoftLayer’s core customer base, companies that have their finger on the Internet pulse and need the levels of control and flexibility in the cloud that we can provide,” says Wisler.

At the end of October customers in Europe will be able to pre-order services to deploy, scale and manage their Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions based on SoftLayer’s unique public/private network infrastructure. In early November, when the Amsterdam data center opens, SoftLayer will have 13 data centers and 16 PoPs worldwide. Each data center is functionally independent with distinct and redundant resources, as well as fully integrated with all SoftLayer facilities. The company’s global network fully integrates three distinct and redundant network architectures—public, private, and data center to data center—into the industry’s first Network-Within-a-Network topology for maximum accessibility, security, and control.

NOTES TO EDITORS

About the Amsterdam Data Center

The new Amsterdam data center will feature:

Capacity for more than 15,000 servers

Redundant network infrastructure

Fully-automated platform

Unique pod design concept

The new data center and Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt PoPs feature connectivity from multiple Tier-1 network carriers, including NTT, Telia, Level 3, and Global Exchange, with direct network connections to SoftLayer facilities in Washington, D.C. and New York. With the strategic location of the European operations and the speed of the SoftLayer network, customers and end users anywhere in the region can connect to SoftLayer services with less than 40ms of latency.

The book, written by my friend, Marc Ostrofsky, is “The Ultimate Guide to Making Money on the Internet”. You most likely heard about some of Marc’s incredible success online including when he sold the domain name Business.com for a Guinness Book of World Record price of $7.5 Million. What you don’t know is that he also got a percentage ownership in Business.com, which they later sold for $345 Million! You should know, Marc started with $5000 and now his internet firms gross over $75 Million a YEAR.

I am happy to report that Marc is FINALLY sharing his secrets with us. I’ve already ordered my copy of Get Rich Click! just based on what I’ve learned about it from his team and who is endorsing it (Jack Canfield, Stephen Covey, David Bach, Brian Tracy, Joel Comm, Bill Walsh, Mike Koenigs, Keith Ferrazi, Mike Filsaime, Robert Allen, Anthony Morrison, Mark Victor Hansen, and others).

As a friend of mine, he’s put together an insane offer for people I know. His offer is simple, buy a copy of Get Rich Click! and you get some ridiculous bonuses he set up.

The amount of useful information in this book is amazing….hundreds of different ways to make money in our “internet based” world. You will learn how people and businesses make money with social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and even YouTube. You will learn how to make money in the domain name business, in the information marketing business, in the affiliate marketing space, and how Marc’s own companies do $75 Million a year. You will read a variety of case studies on how others make money online and my favorite chapter, how to make money starting with no money!

The book stands on it’s own, but Marc is throwing in bonuses anyway!

BONUS 1: A free copy of his “The A to Z Rules of Online Success” (normally $19.95)

BONUS 2: Over $500 in internet advertising (places like Google, Yahoo, Facebook, etc)

CLICK HERE to reserve your copy of the book and get all of the FREE BONUS items now, and be sure to tell your friends, family and social networks about this amazing new book!

P.S. Remember, this book is starting to get all sorts of recognition and people are starting to see it everywhere! I just heard he got booked on The View in early June! Just like the gold rush, the ones who get in first will be the ones with the biggest payoffs. Get Marc’s book RIGHT NOW!
